Must haves for Spring Break!

15 Spring Break Essienals

Must haves for Spring Break!

I love going on beach vacays, islands are one of my favorite places to go. There is nothing like a day in paradise. I also lived very close to the beach I've packed for several beach trips and days on the lake! So these are the essentials that you should pack for your spring break trip! I added a couple of recommendations on the types of specific products that I would bring but that is entirely up to you.

  1. Towel- You definitely can't go to the beach without a towel! I recommend getting a Sandcloud towel, they are made of recycled materials and the sand practically falls right off. The sand stays where it belongs at the beach. They are very soft and perfect for laying out in the sun! Also every purchase helps save marine animals! You can use my code KaseyTr25 to get 25% off your purchase!
  2. Dresses- Nothing says spring like breaking out your favorite dress. Dresses are super comfortable and lightweight, perfect for a tropical or beach vacation. They can also be dressed up or down depending on the plans that you have. I recommend bringing a couple dresses because they are easy to pack!
  3. Skirt/Shorts- You can't go wrong with bringing your favorite skirt or two. Skirts will be a great way to dress up a little at night if you plan to go out. Don't forget your shorts too! You will need these for going back and forth from the beach or the pool, or to just lounge around in.
  4. T-shirts/Tank Tops- Bring your go to warm weather tops. Nothing beats the heat like your favorite tee or tank. I love wearing tees to the beach just incase I want to get out of the sun for a little. Some tanks can be dressed up with that nice skirt that you packed for the night on the town.
  5. Shoes- In this category I recommend bringing a pair of flip flops, sandals, wedges and tennis shoes. This definitely depends on how you are traveling, if you are flying you might want to pack one less pair or not it's up to you. Above I have pictured a pair of Jack Rogers Jellies which are absolutely perfect for the pool, you can wear them while you are still dripping and still get to walk around. Flip Flops are a classic beach shoe, there is nothing like walking on the boardwalk in flip flops. The flip flops that I was obsessed with all last summer was from Vineyard Vines they are insanely comfy and didn't blister my feet. Wedges are a good idea to bring because those are what you can wear when you want to get dressed up. They pair well with dresses, skirts or even a pair of jeans. Tennis shoes are what I think is best to travel in, they are comfortable just in case you have to stand for a little. Also if you are leaving a place that is cold you don't want to go to the airport in flip flops. Sneakers are your heaviest shoes so if you are flying definitely wear your sneakers don't pack them.
  6. Swimsuits- One Piece, Two Piece, Red Piece, Blue Piece. All jokes aside its important to bring multiple swimsuits. I would suggest bringing ones that range in how much they cover just in case you do end up wanting to get less sun one day. I found some really cute suits that are pictures above! The Lilly Pulizer one piece, which is a cute way to get that island vacay vibe. Everything gets better once you add a monogram to it that is why the Marley Lilly tops are so cute. You can also stick the the traditional bikini look or ever a bandeau for the no tan lines look.
  7. Yeti Cooler and Tumbler- If you are going to a beach that allows you to bring on your own drinks, I know a lot of the ones I go to do. There is no better way to keep them cold then having a Yeti cooler. It will keep your drinks at the perfect temperature. I also recommend getting a Yeti tumbler too they are amazing, I have the 30 oz one that holds enough for me to enjoy all day at the beach. As a cheaper option you can just pack a bunch of koozies they will help keep your drinks cold. Cause lets be real cold drinks won't last long at the beach!
  8. Cover Up- I would bring a couple cover ups or maybe even a romper or two. These will be perfect for on your way to the beach or even just sitting by a pool. Above a added a picture of one of the cover ups I like from Vineyard Vines!
  9. Baggy Sweatshirt- This is important to pack for the days that you spent a little too long in the sun. Having a baggy sweatshirt won't cause added irritation to your skin. It also helps if the beach gets cooler at night.
  10. Cute Pajamas- I absolutely love comfy PJs, they are my favorite thing in the world. It's always a good feeling to switch out of the clothes that you have been in all day for a pair of cute, comfy pajamas. Right now I've been obsessed with the new Lauren James pajamas
  11. Hats- SOOO many hats are necessary for a beach trip. It's very important to to keep the sun off your face and scalp. I have all of the different kinds of hats shown above and there is no way I could pick just one to bring. I love the look and how well a sun hat keeps the sun off your face. They are so cute and light weight so your head won't be that hot. But they can get a little difficult if it is windy, so keep that in mind. I have a monogrammed one from Marley Lilly The baseball hat is perfect for beach hair and keeping the sun off your face and your scalp. They are very confortable and stylish. They are perfect for beach wind and don't really blow off your head but can get a little hot on your head because it doesn't breathe. Above I pictured a monogrammed hat from United Monograms. Lastly is the trucker hat which in my opinion is my best of both worlds. It has maximum coverage with the mesh backing for the added breeze, I have one from Vineyard Vines, because it's a little less manly as compared to other types trucker hats.
  12. Beach bag- Above a have my own personal beach bag, it is the L. L. Bean Boat and Tote with a zipper. Having one that zippers is pretty awesome because you can completely close it and your stuff won't fall out. Its got enough space for a towel, drinks, sunglass case, a pair of flip flops, and so much more. I also use this bag for when I go boating its small enough to get packed away and the zipper prevents my stuff from falling out even if we hit a few bumps! But there is also a new trend for those straw totes for the beach. It's up to you just make sure you bring a bag to lug all of your stuff to the beach! And to make sure it's not all just sitting out on your towel.
  13. Cheap sunnies- I cannot stress this enough do not just bring your nice pairs of sunglasses. Something might happen to them. You want a pair that you wouldn't mind if they do end up getting lost or broken. A lot will be going on so having a cheap pair of sunnies adds a lot less stress.
  14. Cross body- A cross body is lightweight and versatile and will be perfect for when you are going out to a bar or other events that you wouldn't want to be lugging your huge purse to. This is also important if you want to keep your valuables closer to you.
  15. Toiletries- This is the everything else category. Shampoo/Conditioner, hair dryer, curler/straightener, body wash, various makeup, makeup wipes, and your toothbrush and toothpaste. Make sure your pack bras and undies! Most importantly don't forget sunscreen and after sun lotion, trust me you will net regret packing these when everyone else around you are lobsters and just incase you get a little to much sun the after sun lotion will take the sting away!

Some add-ons that you might want to consider packing would be a waterproof speaker, ziploc bags (both sandwich and gallon), extra charger cord and base, headphones, passports and other IDs and a piair of jeans. That's all I can think of right now. I will make sure I update this post when I come up with more options. Also feel free to comment or send me your recommendations so I can add them!
